Premier Groom is going digital this year.
We will be running a competition alongside webinars. 

There are seven competing classes including our 2 newest classes –

Virgin – Any level of grooming experience but never competed previously at any competition at any level. No breed specialists allowed.

Model Dog – Any Level of grooming experience, Can compete using any style.

Classes:

MORNING
Beginner – Head judge Sarah Lydon -Scotland 
Intermediate – Head judge Christina Jones – Northern Ireland
Virgin – Head judge Verity Hardcastle – England
Model Dog AM- All judges

AFTERNOON
Asian Freestyle – Head judge Pammie Carmichael-Hogg – England
Open – Head judge Georgia Fuller – Wales
Champion – Head judges Pete and Becki Ensell – England
Model Dog PM – All judges

You can compete with both a model dog AND a live dog. (One AM, One PM)

With the exception of Model Dog; the top 6 will be selected from each category with the 3 first place winners in the morning challenging for Premier Morning Dog and the 3 first place winners in the afternoon challenging for Premier Afternoon Dog.

The top 3 model dogs from the morning and top 3 model dogs from the afternoon will be placed 1st to 6th overall.

There is NO overall Best in Show

Trimming can be carried out at a venue of your choice but there must be an excellent Wi-Fi connection, any connection lost for more than 2 minutes will result in disqualification.

Your camera must be placed to enable the judge to view your trimming clearly (landscape view). You will also be required to access audio for any judges questioning.

Your choice of venue and equipment must be suitable to carry out safe and professional grooming

Your choice and usage of tools and equipment will be taken into account as part of the judges marking criteria

Each category is for any breed or crossbreeds in all sizes.

All trimming and styling techniques i.e. scissoring, clipping (including comb attachments), hand stripping and thinning are allowed. Pure breeds do not necessarily have to be trimmed to breed standard trim

Entry is for one dog only and/or model dog (available to buy with your entry)

Dogs hair must be long enough to allow the groomer to make changes to its physical appearance.

Dogs must be freshly bathed and dried and have no tangles in the coat. Ears must be cleaned and nails clipped before the competition.

Dogs underbelly, hygiene areas and underpads may be previously clipped according to breed standard.

Poodles in traditional style may have the face and feet clipped PRIOR to the competition.

Timing: All classes will have 2 hours 15 minutes, there will be an extra 15 minutes allowed for Poodles with spray top knots

Beginners – Should not have more than 1 year full time grooming experience. No breed specialists allowed.

Intermediate – Should not have more than 2 years full time grooming experience, and may or may not have competed previously. No breed specialists allowed.

Virgin – Any level of grooming experience but never competed previously at any competition at any level. No breed specialists allowed.

Model Dog – Open to all level of competitor. The model should be brushed and prepared prior to the competition start. Any styling, colouring and accessories are allowed.

Asian Freestyle – Open to all level of competitor whether or not they have competed and been placed previously in the same category. Colouring and accessories although permitted should be kept to a minimum.

Open Level – More than 2 years full time grooming experience and may or may not have competed previously. If the competitor placed in first place at another champion show with the same breed/crossbreed, using the same trimming technique as they intend to use in PremierGroom 2020, they MUST enter Champion.

Champion Level – Open to all; a first place in Open with the same breed and trimming technique at any other champion show dictates your entry into Champion

Judges and organisers reserve the right to disqualify any dog in the wrong class.

Once results of the competition have been declared, if a competitor is found to have been entered into the wrong class they will be immediately disqualified and prizes withdrawn.

All groomers are responsible for their own dogs care and well being during their time on screen. Inappropriate or unsafe handling will result in immediate disqualification.
